08/11/2018 - The projects form part of a development finance compact between the Bank, the government of Portugal, and the six Portuguese-speaking countries of Africa - Angola, Cabo Verde, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, and Sao Tomé and Principe, also known as PALOPs. The compact, signed at the African Investment Forum in Johannesburg on Tuesday, stems from efforts by the African Development Bank to bring more focus on the private sector in the PALOPs.

29/03/2018 - The Government of the Republic of Angola, represented by Augusto Archer de Sousa Mangueira, Minister of Finance and Governor for the African Development Bank, and the Bank, represented by Joseph Ribeiro, Country Manager for Angola, signed on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in Cabinda Province, a loan agreement in the amount of US $101.07 million for the Cabinda Provincial Agriculture Value Chains Development Project.
06/03/2018 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank has approved a US $100-million Trade Finance Line of Credit to Angola's Investment Bank (Banco Angolano de Investimentos, BAI). The funding will support international trade transactions of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and local corporates in identified transformative sectors in Angola. In addition, a number of indirect benefits from this facility are expected to accrue to BAI's subsidiaries in Cabo Verde and São Tomé and Príncipe through the strengthening of correspondent banking relationships by providing guarantees on their international trade transactions.
