20/12/2018 - This year’s UN Climate Summit (COP24) has come and gone. For the over 20,000 partiticpants who made the journey to Katowice, Poland for the summit, COP24 was mostly about getting global attention for the climate change issues in their respective jurisdictions. For delegates from Africa, the summit was more than a show-shop: COP24 was an opportunity for the continent to recalibrate its climate change aspirations and credentials.

20/12/2018 - Approximately 64% of the African Continent is found within a transboundary river or lake basin, or sits on a transboundary aquifer, containing 805 freshwater resources. As climate change exacerbates challenges already inherent in Africa’s hydrological cycle, and affects different parts of a watershed differently, it is clear that there is a need to highlight the importance of transboundary perspectives in adaptation and decision-making, and support efforts to include these within states planning and actions, including finance activities.

18/12/2018 - Si la COP24, le sommet mondial annuel sur le climat, fermait officiellement ses portes vendredi 14 décembre 2018, à Katowice, en Pologne, les négociations se sont poursuivies durant le week end, faute d’agrément quant aux modalités concrètes de l’application de l’Accord de Paris dès 2020 – qui vise à limiter le réchauffement à 2°C, voire 1,5°C, par rapport au niveau pré-industriel – par les 197 parties signataires.
