To scale up its impact, the African Development Bank announced the winners of the Africa Development Impact during its Annual Meetings in Ahmedabad, India, on May 24, 2017, with Lerato Mbele acting as master of ceremony and Nollywood actress Omotola J. Ekeinde handing over the awards.

24/04/2017 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) through the African Financial Markets Initiative (AFMI) launched its AfDB/AFMISM Bloomberg® African Bond Index (ABABI) in February 2015. Calculated by Bloomberg Indices, the composite index is currently comprised of the Bloomberg South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Kenya, Botswana and Namibia local currency sovereign indices and have been joined from April this year by Ghana and Zambia.

31/03/2017 - Low-income residents of the Ghanaian capital, Accra suffering from frequent cholera and flooding will soon experience some relief. The Board of Directors of the African Development Fund (ADF) on Tuesday, March 29, 2017 approved a loan of approximately US $ 49 million to the Government of Ghana to increase access to safe and sustainable sanitation and facilitate income generation support for urban and peri-urban poor residents of the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area (GAMA).

07/03/2017 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) and Climate Investment Funds’ Forest Investment Program (CIF FIP), have signed a US $24-million loan agreement with Form Ghana Ltd., opening the door to commence the implementation of an innovative project on Public-Private Partnership for the Restoration of Degraded Forest Reserve through Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certified Plantations.
