15/06/2017 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group and Export Trading Group (ETG) marked a significant milestone on May 30 with the signing of a US$ 100 million loan to finance part of the company’s Agricultural Investment Program (IP) in Africa which will promote employment for youths and women, and adopt an integrated value-chain approach that emphasizes access to regional and global markets.

24/05/2017 - The African Natural Resources Center of the African Development Bank (AfDB) recently secured US $200,000 from the Korea-Africa Economic Cooperation (KOAFEC) fund to support Tanzania’s gas sector. The Center’s gas expert, Charles Nyirahuku, provides an insight into the expected key deliverables from the facility.

09/03/2017 - The Government of the Republic of Mozambique and the African Water Facility (AWF) has entered into a grant agreement for a feasibility study on Urban Sanitation, Drainage and Solid Waste Management in Chimoio and Inhambane. The grant agreement was signed on January 27, 2017 by the Minister of Economy and Finance Adriano Afonso Maleiane and the Country Manager for the African Development Bank Joseph M. Ribeiro. The project was launched in workshops in Maputo on March 8, in Chimoio on March 9 and another one will be held in Inhambane on March 14. This AWF €1.6-million grant project will contribute to improve livelihood conditions and climate change resilience for the 310,000 citizens of the Municipalities of Chimoio and Inhambane. This will be achieved by reducing the risk of flooding and improving the public health.

13/12/2016 - Le Conseil d’administration de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD) a approuvé un prêt de 71,8 millions de dollars EU et un don de 3,1 millions de dollars EU à la République du Mozambique pour renforcer le réseau routier reliant ce pays à la Tanzanie. Le projet va contribuer à désenclaver la partie nord du pays, renforçant la croissance économique et contribuant à réduire la pauvreté. Il participera aussi à l’augmentation des échanges commerciaux et à l’intégration régionale.

24/10/2016 - The African Development Bank’s drive towards implementing its fifth High 5 priority – “Improve the quality of life for the people of Africa” – was boosted on October 13, 2016, when the Provincial Governor for Zambezia in central Mozambique, Abdul Razak Noormahomed, launched a newly completed and rehabilitated Small Piped Water Scheme in Lioma community in the Gurue district.
