05/04/2019 - The African Development Bank has welcomed the Islamic Development Bank’s agreement to contribute US$3 million to the multi-partner Somalia Infrastructure Fund (SIF). The signing ceremony for the agreement took place on the sidelines of the 44th Islamic Development Bank (IsDB)’s Annual Meetings in Marrakech, Morocco.
30/05/2018 - The African Development Bank, on May 28, 2018 in Mogadishu, participated in a signing ceremony that occasioned Italy’s contribution of €1 million to the Somalia Infrastructure Fund (SIF). The ceremony was witnessed by Albert Mafusire, the African Development Bank’s Principal Country Economist for Somalia, who represented the Bank’s Deputy Director General for East Africa and Country Manager for Somalia, Nnenna Nwabufo; the Italian Ambassador to Somalia, Carlo Campanile; and the Federal Government of Somalia’s newly appointed Minister of Public Works, Reconstruction and Housing, Abdifatah Mohamed Ibrahim.
24/07/2017 - The AfDB has briefed donors on its new Country Brief for Somalia and the status of the Multi-Partner Somalia Infrastructure Fund (SIF). The briefing was chaired by Gabriel Negatu, Director General of the Bank’s Eastern Africa Regional Centre. Representatives from the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, UK DfID, USAID, High Commission for India, Delegation of the European Union to Somalia, and the French, Danish and Finnish Embassies participated in the meeting.
02/06/2017 - On 25 May 2017, during the African Development Bank’s Annual Meetings in Ahmedabad, India, the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) and the African Development Bank (AfDB) organised a meeting with donors and friends of Somalia on “Financing the Infrastructure Pillar of Somalia’s National Development Plan (NDP) 2017-19.”
