16/12/2017 - On December 15, 2017, the African Development Bank (AfDB) approved the program “Multinational (Somalia/Sudan) Rural Livelihoods Adaptation to Climate Change in the Horn of Africa II (RLACC II)”. The program is funded by the Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) for a total amount of US $17 million. RLACC II aims to enhance rural livelihoods by reducing food insecurity through climate adaptive measures in pastoral and agro-pastoral communities. It is a clear response to the devastating drought, environmental degradation, and poverty in the Horn of Africa.
18/10/2017 - The Board of Directors of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB) on Wednesday, 18 October 2017 approved Sudan’s Country Brief 2017-2019, designed to help the country build resilience and address core issues of fragility.
08/09/2017 - The African Development Bank (AfDB) has emphasized the need to ensure coherence between the East Africa’s regional integration agenda and the engagement of the Horn of Africa countries’ engagements at the multilateral level.
African Development Bank Director General, Eastern Africa, Gabriel Negatu, made this call at the first Regional Dialogue on WTO accessions for the Greater Horn of Africa Region, which concluded in Nairobi on August 30, 2017.

17/07/2017 - La troisième assemblée générale annuelle du Réseau des parlementaires africains pour l'évaluation du développement (APNODE), s’est tenue à Khartoum, au Soudan, du 15 au 17 juillet 2017. Au nombre des 47 participants venus de 17 pays du continent, figuraient trois présidents de parlement (du Soudan, de l'Éthiopie et de l'Ouganda), des parlementaires, ainsi que des partenaires au développement, dont ONU-Femmes, le Centre d'apprentissage sur l'évaluation et les résultats pour l’Afrique anglophone (CLEAR-AA), et le Département de l'évaluation indépendante du développement de la Banque africaine de développement (BAD).
07/04/2017 - The Vice President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) responsible for Corporate Services and Human Resources, Alberic Kacou, concluded a three-day official visit to Sudan on Thursday, 6 April 2017. He was accompanied by the Bank’s Resident Representative in Sudan, Abdul Kamara and technical staff. The mission, which was essentially a follow-up on the Bank Group President’s recent visit to the country, entailed detailed discussions with Sudanese authorities on practical steps towards enabling Sudan to take full advantage of opportunities emerging from the temporary removal of economic sanctions, and create avenues for the Bank to scale up development efforts in the country, in collaboration with other development partners.
04/04/2017 - The Vice President of the African Development Bank (AfDB) responsible for Corporate Services and Human Resources, Alberic Kacou, began a three-day official visit to Sudan on Tuesday, 04 April 2017, accompanied by the Bank’s Resident Representative in the country, Abdul Kamara. The visit is a follow-up to the recent visit of the Bank Group’s President Dr. Adesina, which created an opportunity for high level interaction with the Sudanese authorities and exchange of views on opportunities associated with the temporary removal of economic sanctions and avenues for the country’s reengagement with the international community.

06/03/2017 - On March 1, 2017, African Development Bank President Akinwumi Adesina made a courtesy call on Suad Sayed Ali Omer Beheiry, widow of the first President and founding father of the African Development Bank Group, the late Dr. Mamoun Beheiry. Having been briefed of the presence of Mrs. Beneiry in Khartoum, President Adesina made the visit a priority, which he said was the only way to communicate to Mrs. Beheiry the extent to which the Bank, and indeed Africa as a whole, appreciated the efforts and visionary leadership of her late husband Dr. Beheiry.
03/03/2017 - As part of his three-day official visit to Sudan, the President of the African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adesina, met with the Director General of Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), Sidi Ould Tah, to explore further cooperation and consolidate existing relations between the two institutions.
