29/06/2017 - The African Development Bank’s Board of Directors approved a US $3-million grant of the Bank’s Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA) for Phase 2 of the Green Mini-Grid Market Development Programme (GMG MDP). Implemented by the Bank-hosted SEforALL Africa Hub, the GMG MDP’s objective is to support the scale-up of investments in commercially viable GMG projects through a broad range of interventions to improve the enabling environment. The project seeks to remove or reduce market barriers at regional scale and strengthen the ecosystem for the emergence of a thriving GMG sector in Sub-Saharan Africa – contributing significantly to the objectives of SEforALL and the New Deal on Energy for Africa.
04/04/2017 - At the fourth sustainable energy for all (SEforALL) Africa workshop held 29-30 March 2017 at AfDB offices in Abidjan, as part of the Energy Week, stakeholders called for faster actions towards universal energy access in Africa. Attended by more than 120 stakeholders, the meeting aimed at reinforcing collaboration and joining the forces for universal energy access, taking stock of recent progress and challenges, sharing best practices and innovative solutions and charting way forward.
21/03/2017 - The Ministerial segment of the African Union’s first Specialized Technical Committee (STC) on Transport, Intercontinental and Interregional Infrastructures, Energy and Tourism brought together over 40 Ministers from the concerned sectors in Lomé, Togo. The STC was organized by the African Union Commission in collaboration with the Government of Togo and with the support of the African Development Bank. The meeting was held to consider strategies for strengthening the financing of the aforementioned sectors.
04/11/2016 - The Honorable Minister of Infrastructure of Rwanda, James Musoni, officially launched on November 1, 2016, the SE4All Action Agenda, during the iPAD Rwanda Energy Infrastructure Forum that gathered international stakeholders, financiers, industry experts, and Government representatives.
27/10/2016 - The Deep Ocean Water Applications (DOWA) project in Mauritius supported by the Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA) marked a new milestone last week by welcoming the largest marine engineering platform of its kind – ‘Joseph Plateau’ – in Port Louis. The vessel will carry out detailed offshore marine surveys to introduce an innovative low carbon technology that lowers building cooling costs using cold ocean water – a first of its kind in Africa.

26/10/2016 - La troisième édition du concours de plans d’affaires du Forum sur le financement des énergies propres en Afrique de l’Ouest (dit par acronyme anglais WAFCEF), un concours porté par le Réseau consultatif pour le financement privé, a été lancé en marge de la Semaine de l’énergie durable de la CEDEAO, qui s’est tenue à Accra du 17 au 19 octobre.
06/10/2016 - The AfDB-hosted Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) Africa Hub launched a Green Mini-Grid Help Desk (greenminigrid.se4all-africa.org) for renewable energy mini-grid project developers during the 3rd International Off-Grid Renewable Energy Conference (IOREC) on October 1st in Nairobi.
07/09/2016 - Angola’s Secretary of State of Energy, Joaquin Ventura, opened the validation workshop for Angola’s SE4All Action Agenda and Investment Prospectus on 26 August 2016 in Luanda on behalf of the energy Minister, João Baptista Borges. The workshop, organised by the Ministry of Energy and Water (MINEA) concluded work to define Angola’s long-term objectives on energy access, energy efficiency and renewable energy, as well as the priority actions required to achieve them.
20/07/2016 - The Nigeria National Council of Power (NACOP) has adopted the country’s Sustainable Energy for All (SE4All) Action Agenda during its 2nd edition that took place in Kaduna City from 11 to 15 July 2016.
