Pays côtier situé dans la Corne de l’Afrique, Djibouti bénéficie d’une position géographique privilégiée, entre l’Afrique, l’Asie et l’Europe. Cependant, la République de Djibouti est particulièrement vulnérable aux menaces climatiques En dépit de l’amélioration des performances économiques enregistrées durant ces dernières années, traduites par un PIB par habitant relativement élevé de 1.130 US $ et un taux de croissance de 5,4% en 2013, les conditions de vie d'une frange importante de la population Djiboutienne ne se sont pas beaucoup améliorées.

Ethiopia - Djibouti - Power Interconnection Project - Project Completion Report (PCR)

The Interconnection Project is of strategic importance to both Ethiopia and Djibouti. The PRSP (February 2004) of Djibouti identified business and industrial development critical for national employment generation and poverty reduction while the PRSP of Ethiopia (July 2002) identified agriculture and rural development a priority area of Government intervention. The interconnection project was the least cost option for addressing the energy constraint in Djibouti.
