Objectives

The objective of the project is to rehabilitate Tazama Pipeline and its auxilliary systems to prevet further losses of crude oil through leakages, avoid environmental damage in Zambia and Tanzania as well to strengthen TPl management capability through training and consultancy services.

Description

The project envisaged the rehabiliation of the pipeline and associated facilities to ensure that whole system will operate reliably and effectively. Repairs works would be carried out on the pipeline where feasible and sections replaced where repair could not be justified technically and financially. The project consists of the following components : A. Pipeline B. Corrosion Protection C. Plant Equipment D. Telecommunications System E. Tank Farms F. Transport and Maintenance Equipment G. Training H. Consultancy/Engineering I. Working Capital J. Interest during Rehabilitation.
