The project seeks to support the Government's health sectors strategy system. It will help the Government to increase the rural population's accessibility to primary health care by establishing a network at rural health centres.
The project which would be implemented over an eighteen month period would constitute the following components: 1) - 82 Rural Health Centres and 246 Staff Houses - construction, design andtender documents - equipment and furniture - vehicles and spare parts - supervision 2) - Project Implementation Unit (PIU) - Personnel
The construction of a network of Health Centres is perfectly consistent and complementary to Government strategy which calls for an expanded and strengthened primary health care system. The project will contribute to the objective of providing preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services to a majority of the rural population.
The Project is technically feasible, economically viable and socially desirable. It consititues a big interest for the rural population and will help the Government to decentralize the national health system.
