Entry Points to Investing in Transition Countries in the Horn of Africa

Investing via neighboring countries that are not in transition, namely Ethiopia and Kenya, could provide an entry point into the region for new or risk-adverse investors.

Efficiency seeking investors could invest in Ethiopia as an entry point to the region, particularly as Addis Ababa develops as a regional hub for transport and business services for neighboring countries.

In addition, the largest diaspora populations from South Sudan and Somalia are in Kenya; and these populations could be accessed through regional investments.
