The CBFF faced a few challenges in 2013, from which the Fund has learned some very important lessons that it plans to consolidate and leverage to ensure the future success of its operations. The ii CBFF did not meet its disbursement objective for the year—only 9.7 million Euros were disbursed out of the 17 million Euros planned for the year. OPEV’s activities for 1998 formed an integral part of the triennial rolling work programme of 1998-20001 , discussed by the Boards Committee on Operations and Development Effectiveness (CODE) and submitted to the Board of Directors for approval. The work programme took into account the plan of actions with a view to implementing the Working Group’s recommendations on the quality of projects, measures taken within the framework of ADF-VII mid-term review and preliminary consultations for the ADF-VIII replenishment.

Third Quarter 2005 - Operations Evaluation Department Activity Report

The third quarter of the year has consolidated the confidence to achieve most of the targets being set in OPEV’s work programme for 2005. OPEV has completed two country assistance evaluations and is finalizing two other country assistance evaluations. Three review reports are under internal review before their submission to CODE and two major sector studies and one process review have been launched. Several other evaluation products are under preparation.

Second Quarter 2005 - Operations Evaluation Department (OPEV) Activity Report

The third quarter of the year will start with increased confidence for the substantial completion of OPEV’s ambitious work programme for 2005. This is because of the satisfaction gained at the progress and completions achieved on several evaluation products in the first and second quarters. First Quarter 2005 - Operations Evaluation Department (OPEV) Activity Report

The independent Operations Evaluation Department (OPEV) continued to build on the progress achieved in 2004. With increased staffing level, it has embarked on an ambitious work programme significantly higher in volume and level of evaluations than previous years. Increased attention has been given to higher level evaluations (sector, thematic, country assistance evaluations and operational process reviews) that would draw lessons to be used to improve policies, strategies and programmes.

First Quarter 2004 - Operations Evaluation Department (OPEV) Activity Report

Like other departments in the Bank, the Evaluation Department has made significant progresses in the last seven years. These progresses are: • Making evaluation an integral part of Bank work and making the Department independent in its evaluation work. • Providing relevant lessons to the Operation Complex. • Mandatory use of log frame analyses in project design. • Introduction of new evaluation products – gradual movement away from narrowly focussed project evaluations to sectors, themes and country assistance evaluations.

2000 Annual Operations Evaluation Report

OPEV’s 2000 activities formed an integral part of the 1999-2001 Three-Year Rolling Programme1 , discussed by the Committee of Operations and Development Effectiveness (CODE) and submitted to the Boards of Directors for approval. This Work Programme took these recommendations into consideration, as well as some new aspects under the replenishment of ADF-VIII and the implications of the development of harmonization and coordination activities among the different Multilateral Development Banks (MDB).

It outlines and assesses the situation of staff, financial resources and evaluation products for 2005. The report also highlights the challenges for the future regarding OPEV structure, staffing level and feedback and dissemination.
