Algeria - Combined 2011-2012 Dialogue Note Completion Report and Country Portfolio Performance Review 2012

The 2011-2012 Dialogue Note for Algeria was approved by the Bank’s Board of Directors in July 2011. It is the first cooperation framework document between the Bank and Algeria since the approval of the 2000-2002 Country Strategy Paper (ADB/BD/WP/2000/102/-Rev.1) in October 2000 and its update in June 2002 (ADB/DB/WP/2000/102/Rev.1/Add.1). Aligned with the country priorities, the three focus areas of cooperation are: (i) public administration capacity building; (ii) private sector development; and (iii) regional integration.

2011-2012 - Algeria - Country Dialogue Note

The last Country Strategy Paper (CSP) for Algeria (ADB/BD/WP/2000/101-/Rev.1) was approved by the Board in October 2000. It covered the period 2000-2002 and was updated in June 2002. In February 2006, Algerian authorities suspended external borrowing and repaid all debts to multilateral institutions. This note is to inform the Board of recent developments in Algeria and to report on prospects for cooperation between the Bank and Algeria, during the period 2011-2012.

2009 - Libya - Country Engagement Note

Though a founding and relatively large shareholder of the African Development Bank, Libya has never borrowed from the Bank Group. Hence, the Bank Group’s operational engagement with the country has been limited to non-lending activities, mainly studies.

2007-2008 - Côte d'Ivoire - Country Dialogue Paper

Introduction: The aim of the present Dialogue Paper is to update the Board on recent developments in the socioeconomic situation of the country and propose, for 2007- 2008, a strategy to enhance economic policy dialogue with the Government as well as measures to foster the resumption of the Bank Group’s operations in the country. The preparation of this paper was reinforced by the constantly expressed desire of the Ivorian Government to resume cooperation with the country’s development partners including the Bank.

2001-2002 - Côte d'Ivoire - Country Dialogue Paper

The Boards of Directors approved the most recent Country Strategy Paper (CSP) for Cote d’Ivoire, covering the 1996-98 period, in October 1996 (ADB /BD/WP/96/100 and ADF/BD/WP/96/72 of 12 August 1996.). The Bank Group has been absent from Liberia since the country fell into arrears with the Bank in 1985 as a result of the civil conflict. As at June 30, 2006 the total amount of arrears due to the Bank Group stood at UA 158.2m.
